Overview
Off has full support for creating Shortcuts. With Shortcuts you can create automations that run without you having to interact with the app. For example, you can automatically set your computer to wake up every day at 9:00 or set your computer to automatically lock whenever you leave the office.
Follow the steps below to create your own Shortcuts to use with Off for putting your computer to sleep whenever you leave the office. It's a very similar process for any type of automation you want to make. There is also a YouTube playlist available showing some of the things you can do with Off and Shortcuts here.
Step 1
Open the Shortcuts app.
Step 2
Select the Automation tab and press the + in the top right.
Step 3
Most of the time you'll want to select Create Personal Automation, unless you want to create a Shortcut that runs for anyone in your household.
Step 4
Select what you want to trigger your Shortcut to run. Here we're selecting Leave because we want it to trigger when we leave the office.
Step 5
As we're creating a location based shortcut we need to set the location that will trigger it. We can also choose to trigger it only at specifc times.
Step 6
Here we provide the location of the office.
Step 7
And now we're ready to select Next.
Step 8
Search for the Off app to bring up all the possible actions it can perform.
Step 9
Here we can pick what action we would like to perform. For this automation we're going to select Sleep.
Step 10
Here you're able to combine this action with other actions, if you choose. Once you're done press Next.
Step 11
That's it. It's all configured.
